This past weekend was my cousin's debut in San Diego. Family, friends, white wine, and 5 kinds of cake made it a festive event.

Just because our new p&p layout is white, doesn't mean I abandon the black. My tunic is a special delivery from Mare, a lovely gift from her HK adventures. I draped it with more layers of black.

Fashion Thursday: Namaste

hubby and i took a cable car with a glass bottom to check out the 250 ton bronze buddha statue perched on top of a mountain on lantau island. it was absolutely breathtaking (ahhh) also considering the massive amount of steps to get to the top platform.







we got lost trying to find the wisdom path near the statue and ended up here. it was eerily quiet...



on an unrelated note, i scored on some ahhh-mazing jewelry i found around the markets and shopping arcades in hong kong. i found them all at different places but they all seem to go together.

Kowloon Side

I pretty much went down the list of top ten things to do in my HK travel guide and visited the Chi Lin Nunnery Buddhist Temple in Kowloon. It's a very peaceful place designed in the style of the Tang Dynasty era. It was raining lightly that day or actually it was more like mist was in the air and it felt surreal like I was in an old Chinese movie with the manicured gardens, coy pond, and waterfall. These pictures don't do it any justice. Since I only packed 3 outfits, I had to buy a coat out there. I found this wool one at La Foret with an oversized hood that you can roll under to form a poofy collar.

i'm back from hong kong and i miss it already. i'm having serious withdrawals. wish it was closer so i can go there on the weekends.

all i can say is the shopping is insane. there's just so much stuff, it can be overwhelming. i shopped my brains our the first 4 days. after that, all i wanted to do was relax, sight-see, drink tea, find new places to eat and get foot massages. i copped some lovely shoes, all flat with hardware. after walking all day, the last thing on my mind were heels. i'll definitely wear all these to the ground.
